The Sistine Chapel

Other than a few random snapshots in textbooks or what have you, I really did not have a good idea of what the Sistine Chapel actually looks like. We’ve all seen the iconic sections, separated on their own in square images which do not do the cavernous, luxurious stone canvas any justice. I got to see it for the first time today, and I’m stunned by its beauty and careful perfection.

Now anyone can visit the Sistine Chapel! You can use your mouse wheel to zoom, and click-drag to look around.

Seeing something so amazing, in whole, and for the first time, filled me with a quiet and sincere sense of profundity which I shall not soon forget.
